The WINES : THE ROSES
Loudenne Les Roses
du Château Médoc red
The cuvée les Roses du Château pays hommage to its famous « pink château » from the 17th century as well as the rose gardens that contribute to its reputation. The cuvee is produced from several parcels comprising a single block on the banks of the Gironde close to Loudenne in the commune of Saint-Christoly du Médoc. A delicious and enjoyable wine that benefits from all the know-how of the Loudenne winery.
A vineyard comprising a single block of 14,5 hectares of chalky-clay soil with numerous stones and lumps of chalk above a plateau of chalk in the subsoil, an ideal soil structure for the Merlot varietal.
Harvested by parcel, sorted on arrival using a vibrating table before gravity filling the tanks.
Vinification takes place in the cellars at Château Loudenne using stainless steel and thermoregulated concrete tanks.
The press is done using a small vertical Bucher press to separate and select the press wines.
