Loudenne
Les folies

A full-bodied red Bordeaux with a fruity nose

Les Folies evokes three hundred years of bold and elegant Loudenne history. With the Les Folies line, Loudenne is reconnecting with its merchant past, which was developed by the Gilbey family at the end of the 19th century, and becoming once again an ambassador of Bordeaux wine. The Loudenne cellar master selects the wines that are blended to make Les Folles with the same passion and attention to detail as the wines that have made the château famous.

Characteristics

Blending and Aging

80 to 90% Merlot, 10 to 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. 80% of the wine is sourced from growers selected by Loudenne and 20% comes from Loudenne’s own grapes. The wines from Loudenne were aged in barrels to bring out their complexity and structure while the other growers’ wines were aged in tanks to bring out their body and fruitiness.

Tasting Notes

Beautiful cherry red color, nose with pleasant intensity characterized by red berries, especially strawberry, with slightly woody and vanilla notes. Rich and pleasant on the palate. A frank attack and a finish with well-rounded, subtle tannins that give the wine an aging potential of 2 to 3 years.
